PCC and ACC Manufacturers for Paints and Printing Inks in India

ISO 9001:2000

TL;DR: If you are looking for PCC manufacturers for paints and printing inks in India, start with what each producer actually supplies for coatings. Chemical & Mineral Industries Pvt. Ltd. (CMIPL), based in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, supplies its PCC (Vical-D) to paper, food, pharma, cosmetic and rubber users, and serves paints, printing inks and plastics with surface-modified Activated Calcium Carbonate (ACC) in five Vical grades.

PCC or ACC for paints and printing inks?

PCC is calcium carbonate made by chemical precipitation, with controlled particle size and purity. ACC is calcium carbonate with a surface treatment that makes it compatible with polymers and resins, which is why it is the grade used in coatings, inks and plastics. At CMIPL:

  • Paints, printing inks and polymer compounding: ACC grades Vical-S, Vical-S1, Vical-SF, Vical-C and Vical-T. See the ACC product page.

  • Paper, food, pharma, cosmetics, toothpaste and rubber: PCC Vical-D. See the PCC product page.

What to ask any supplier of minerals for paints and inks

  • Whiteness: the value for the exact grade, and no yellowish tint in white and pastel finishes.

  • Particle size: the size range and the coarse fraction, since coarse grit hurts sheen, texture and print quality.

  • Consistency: how the supplier keeps lots the same from batch to batch.

  • Supply: kiln capacity and delivery reliability for continuous production.

Ask for a technical data sheet for each of these, and test the grade in your own formulation before you commit.

CMIPL's Vical ACC grades

CMIPL makes activated calcium carbonate that is surface-modified for polymer compatibility, in five grades: Vical-S, Vical-S1, Vical-SF, Vical-C and Vical-T. The range serves paints, printing inks, plastics, PVC, adhesives and sealants, leather and rubber. Describe your formulation to CMIPL's team and they will help you choose the grade. Made at CMIPL's own kilns

CMIPL operates three lime kilns in Boranada, Jodhpur, with a combined capacity of 1,200 TPD. It makes the quick lime and CO2 that its calcium carbonate starts from, and reuses 100% of the calcination CO2 in PCC manufacturing. CMIPL was the first PCC company certified under ISO 9001:2008 and is ZED Certified by the Ministry of MSME of India.
